On Saturday, October 21, 101 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12115 persons have been stopped during this year.
A total 379 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On October 21, officials of the State Border Guard detected 37 offenders at external borders and within the country.
15 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 8 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, one - of Russia and one – of Great Britain, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid travel documents, as well as to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. Three more citizens of Ukraine and one – of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Azerbaijan was detected at the Terehova Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 persons
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia departing for London, who were not in possession of valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons – three citizens of Russia, three – of Estonia and two - of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three – of Russia, three – of Uzbekistan, one – of Estonia and one – of Germany.
