On Sunday, October 23, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 53 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- one foreigner with forged documents was detected
at “Terehova” border control point, one citizen of Serbia who presented a fake driver’s license of Italy to the border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. A forged document was confiscated as part of the criminal proceedings.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 19 foreigners
at “Vientuļi”, “Terehova”, “Silene” and “Grebņeva” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to six citizens of Russia, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; two citizens of Russia, as foreigners did not have valid travel documents; three citizens of Moldova and two citizens of Ukraine, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. For security reasons, three citizens of Russia and three citizens of Ukraine were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by one foreigner
one citizen of Ukraine was detected at the Airport “Riga” border control point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded duration of stay specified in a visa - free regime). The person is subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 11 people - seven citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Belarus, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Russia, two citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Serbia, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
