On Wednesday, October 23, 9 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and, Belarus, while a total – 4961 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 57 offenders at external borders and within the country.
27 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Belarus leaving Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged queue administration control voucher, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents.
- 1 wanted person – foreigner was detained
at the Terehova Border Control Point, one Moldovan citizen entered from Russia, who is wanted by the police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, one - of Uzbekistan and one – of Kyrgyzstan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to two citizens of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries); as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova and one - of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 7 foreigners
four citizens of Uzbekistan, one – of Moldova, one – of Belarus and one – of Kyrgyzstan were detected at the Pāternieki, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for Egypt, and another citizen of Latvia, departing for Georgia, were detected to be prohibited from leaving the country. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - four citizens of Uzbekistan, three – of Lithuania, two – of Ukraine and one – of Estonia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, three - of Lithuania, two – of Estonia, two – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Poland, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
