On Friday, October 25, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4961 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 62 offenders at external borders and within the country.
34 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 foreigner with forged documents was detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point, one citizen of Kazakhstan entering from Belarus with vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards forged roadworthiness test certificates for the vehicle and trailer, was detected. The person is held administratively liable. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the administrative procedure.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 12 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Georgia, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries). While at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the Port of Liepaja, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, three – of Russia (to one seafarer), one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany due to security reasons. Regarding the seafarer, a letter of guarantee was taken from the ship's captain that the foreigner will not go ashore while the ship is in port, the other persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 12 foreigners
six citizens of Uzbekistan, three – of Tajikistan, one – of Ukraine, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of India were detected at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, two citizens of Latvia departing for United Kingdom, whose travel documents were not valid for travel to United Kingdom, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 12 persons - three citizens of Estonia, three – of Ukraine, two - of Tajikistan, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Armenia and one – Somali.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three - of Germany, two – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Latvia, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Italy, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Poland and one – of Romania.
