On Saturday, October 26, 70 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5031 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries); to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid travel document; to two citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Romania, two – of Russia and two - of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
three citizens of Moldova, one – of Russia and one – of Uzbekistan were detected at the Terehova Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for United Kingdom, whose travel document was not valid for travel to United Kingdom, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons - three citizens of Lithuania, three - of Estonia and two – of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Belarus, three - of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Germany and one – of Sweden.
