On Sunday, October 27, 15 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 5046 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 21 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 49 offenders at external borders and within the country.
18 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Grebņeva Border Control Point, one citizen of Lithuania leaving Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, and at the Terehova Border Control Point, one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards forged queue management control vouchers, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Romania and one – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Ukraine, one - of Kazakhstan and one – of Great Britain were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia departing for Ireland, who was not in possession of valid travel document, as well as
one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Turkey, who does not have the notarized consent of at least one parent for the child to leave the country independently, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 2 citizens of Russia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 29 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, five – of Latvia, three - of Russia, two – of Moldova, two– of Uzbekistan, one – of Estonia, one – of Lithuania, one – of India, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of the Netherlands, one – of Romania, one – of Serbia, one – of Tajikistan, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
