On Sunday, October 30, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 41 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

20 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 10 foreigners

at “Vientuļi” and “Terehova” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia and one citizen of Moldova, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; five citizens of Moldova and two citizens of Ukraine, as foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. People were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners

two citizens of Moldova and one citizen of Great Britain were detected at the “Vientuļi” and the Airport “Riga” border control points for violating of conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded duration of stay specified in the visa, or visa - free regime). People were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by one citizen of Lithuania.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 18 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Russia, three citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Italy, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Mongolia, one citizen of Serbia, one citizen of Tajikistan, and one citizen of Ukraine.
