On Monday, October 31, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 47 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
21 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to eight foreigners
at “Terehova”, “Grebņeva”, “Pāternieki” and the Airport “Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Moldova, and one citizen of Serbia, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; and one citizen of Uzbekistan, as a foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his/her travel and stay. For security reasons, two citizens of Russia and two citizens of Ukraine were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia. People were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by three foreigners
three citizens of Ukraine were detected at the “Grebņeva” and the Airport “Riga” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded duration of stay specified in a visa or visa - free regime). People were subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by three people - two citizens of Estonia and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - seven citizens of Latvia, four citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Serbia, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Azerbaijan, one citizen of Kazakhstan, and one citizen of Tajikistan.
