On Tuesday, October 31, 82 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 12892 persons have been stopped during this year.
A total 389 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On October 31, officials of the State Border Guard detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.
16 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners
at the Terehova Border Control Point entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Russia and one – of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Moldova was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – two citizens of Belarus, two – of Estonia and one – Iran.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, two - of Kirgizstan, one – of Russia, one – of Bulgaria, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Romania, one – of Tajikistan and one – of Ukraine.
