On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected7 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
54 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- one foreigner with forged documents was detected
at „Grebņeva” border control point, one citizen of Russia who presented a forged vehicle registration certificate from Russia to the border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal proceedings, the forged documents were confiscated.
- one wanted person was detained
at the Airport “Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia entering the Republic of Latvia who is wanted by the police was detected. The person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 26 foreigners
at „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, „Silene” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to seven citizens of Russia, two citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of China and one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits as well as 11 citizens of Ukraine and one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay; and one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen area countries. People were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by one foreigner
at “Grebņeva” border control point, one citizen of Ukraine who had violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa) was detected. The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, four citizens of Latvia departing for London without valid travel documents required for entering Great Britain were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by five people - one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Azerbaijan, one citizen of Kazakhstan, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Moldova, three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Russia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
