On Thursday, October 6, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 49 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

37 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 25 foreigners

at „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, „Silene”, „Grebņeva” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 17 citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits. Additionally, four citizens of Russia and one citizen of Ukraine were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia for security reasons. People were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by six foreigners

four citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Russia, and one citizen of Uzbekistan were detected at the „Terehova” and the Airport „Riga” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the Schengen area (no valid visas or residence permits). The proceedings in the case of administrative violations of citizens of Ukraine were not initiated; other people are subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia

at the Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid travel document required for entering Great Britain was detected. A person was prohibited from leaving the country.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 12 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Serbia, one citizen of Romania, and one citizen of Poland.
