On Friday, October 7, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 59 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

31 trespassers were detected on external borders, including

  • one foreigner with forged documents was detected

at the Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Turkey who presented a forged residence permit of Poland to the border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings have been initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal proceedings, the forged documents were confiscated.

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to 18 foreigners

at „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, „Silene”, „Grebņeva” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova, three citizens of Russia, one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Tajikistan, one citizen of Ireland, and one citizen of Afghanistan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; and two citizens of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay. Additionally, five citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia for security reasons. People were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by eight foreigners

four citizens of Uzbekistan, three citizens of Ukraine, and one citizen of Tajikistan were detected at the “Grebņeva”, “Vientuļi”, “Terehova” and the Airport “Riga” border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa or visa - free regime, no valid visas or residence permits). People are subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 12 people - two citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Lithuania, two citizens of Turkey, two citizens of Uzbekistan, one citizen of Latvia, and one citizen of India.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Hungary, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
