On Saturday, the 7th of October, the State Border Guard’s officials prevented 43 persons from the illegal crossing of the Latvian – Belarusian state border, in total 10770 persons have been prevented from the illegal border crossing during this year.

In total 377 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

46 offenders were detected at external borders and within the country

22 border checks violators were detected at external borders including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners

At the Vientuļi, Terehova the ‘‘Riga’’ Airport Border Crossing Points entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russian and one citizen of South Sudan, as the foreigners were not into possession of valid visa or residence permit. Three citizens of Ukraine and two citizens of Russia were refused from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.

  • conditions of stay were violated by 2 foreigners

At the Pāternieki and the ‘‘Riga’’ Airport Border Crossing Points one citizen of Kyrgyzstan and one –of the United Kingdom, were detected for violating the conditions of stay in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). Persons were subjected to the administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 citizens of Latvia

At the ‘‘Riga’’ Airport Border Crossing Point two citizens of Latvia, leaving the country, were detected with not having valid travel documents to the United Kingdom. Persons were refused to exit from the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or stay conditions were detected for 5 people – four citizens of Estonia and one citizen of Lithuania.

In the field of the violations of exploitation of the vehicles and vessels 19 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard – 8 citizens of Belarus, 4 –of Uzbekistan, 1 –of Russia, 1 –of Lithuania, 1 –of Israel, 1 –of Kazakhstan, 1 –of Kyrgyzstan, 1 –of Moldova and 1 –of Germany.
