On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 53 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

24 trespassers were detected on external borders, including

  • one wanted person was detained

in the Liepāja Unit, during immigration control, one citizen of Latvia entering the Republic of Latvia who is wanted by the police was detected. Person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for three foreigners

at „Grebņeva”, „Vientuļi” and Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Albania, as foreigner was not in possession of a valid visa or residence permit, one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of travel and stay; and one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen area countries.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Latvia

at Airport “Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid document requested for entering Great Britain, one citizen of Latvia departing for London without a valid travel document (the document is invalid due to a change of surname), and one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Tel Aviv, who was not in possession of his/her parents’ notarized consent to leave the country on his/her own, were detected. Persons were refused the right to leave the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven persons - five citizens of Estonia, one citizen of Russia, and one citizen of Pakistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 22 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Russia, three citizens of Latvia, three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Kyrgyzstan, two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Israel, and one citizen of Romania.
