On Friday, September 13, 9 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4262 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 16 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 64 offenders at external borders and within the country.
33 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 3 foreigners with forged documents or with documents of another person were detected
at the Terehova Border Control Point one citizen of Tajikistan entering Latvia with heavy goods vehicle and trailer, who presented to border guards a forged Trailer Technical Inspection Certificate, was detected. The person was held administratively liable. The forged document was seized within the framework of administrative procedures. While at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, during the immigration control, two citizens of Finland who presented to border guards ID Cards of other citizens of Sweden, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for concealing one's identity.
- 1 wanted person – citizen of Latvia was detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one Latvian citizen entered from Ireland, who is wanted by the police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 15 foreigners
at the Grebņeva and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; while at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Kosovo, two – of Uzbekistan, two – of Tajikistan, one – of North Macedonia and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has a Schengen entry ban (he is not allowed to enter or stay in the territory of the Schengen area countries); as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
one citizen of Russia, one – of Uzbekistan, one - of Great Britain and one – of Russia were detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Serbia, who did not have at least one parent's notarized consent for the child's independent departure from the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 8 persons - four citizens of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, one – of Estonia and one - of Ukraine.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 23 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Belarus, three - of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Georgia, two – of Kirgizstan, three – of Spain, one - of Austria, one- of France, one – of Israel and one – of Kazakhstan.
