On Wednesday, September 13, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 53 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected on external borders, including
- one foreigner with forged documents was detected
at „Terehova” border control point, one citizen of Ukraine who presented a forged driver’s license of Ukraine to border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal proceedings, forged documents were confiscated.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for three foreigners
at „Terehova” and Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused for two citizens of Ukraine, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, and one citizen of Armenia, as foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his/her travel and stay. Persons were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by five foreigners
three citizens of Ukraine, one of Russia, and one of Moldova were detected at the "Vientuļi" and Airport "Riga" border control points for violating the conditions of residence in the Schengen area (exceeding the period of stay specified in the visa). Proceedings in three cases of administrative violations of citizens of Ukraine and Russia were not initiated; the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing to London without a valid travel document requested to enter Great Britain and at the „Silene” border control point, one non-citizen of Latvia without a valid travel document (expired passport) were detected. Persons were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by five persons - two citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Belarus, and one citizen of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 11 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - three citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Latvia, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
