On Thursday, September 15, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 43 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

25 trespassers were detected on external borders, including

  • one foreigner with forged documents was detected

at „Grebņeva” border control point, one citizen of Serbia who presented a forged driver’s license of Serbia to border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal proceedings, forged documents were confiscated.

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused to five foreigners

at „Grebņeva”, „Terehova”, „Silene” and Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of India, as foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; as well as one citizen of Moldova, as a foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his/her travel and stay. Persons were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by eight foreigners

at „Terehova”, „Grebņeva”, „Silene” and Airport „Riga” border control points, five citizens of Russia, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Belarus, and one citizen of Great Britain (exceeding the period of stay specified in the visa, no valid visa or residence permit) were detected. Proceedings in cases of administrative violations of citizens of Great Britain and Russia were not initiated; the other persons were brought to administrative responsibility.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia

at Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing to London without a valid travel document required to enter Great Britain was detected. Person was prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by two persons - one citizen of Russia and one citizen of Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 15 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Latvia, two citizens of Moldova, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Romania, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Germany.
