On Saturday, September 17, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 37 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

8 trespassers were detected on external borders, including

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for one foreigner

at “Terehova” border control point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid visa or residence permit. Person was returned to his/her country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by two foreigners

at „Terehova” border control point, one citizen of Russia and one citizen of Belarus who had violated conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeding the period of stay specified in the visa) were detected. Persons were subjected to administrative liability.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven persons - four citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Turkey, and one citizen of Poland.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - six citizens of Russia, three citizens of Belarus, three citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Latvia, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, and one citizen of Germany.
