On Thursday, September 19, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4326 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 16 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country.
13 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 11 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to seven citizens of Moldova, one - of Russia and one – of Finland due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 1 foreigner
one citizen of Kyrgyzstan was detected at the Grebņeva Border Control Point, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons – three citizens Uzbekistan and one – of Tajikistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 21 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, four – of Russia, three – of Lithuania, two – of Latvia, two - of Tajikistan, one – of Estonia, one – of India, one – of Uzbekistan and one - of Germany.
