On Thursday, September 22, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 31 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
31 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- one foreigner with forged documents was detected
at „Grebņeva” border control point, one citizen of Ukraine who presented a forged driver’s license of Ukraine to the border guards was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. As part of the criminal proceedings, forged documents were confiscated.
- two wanted persons was detained
the Vidzeme Service detected one citizen of Germany on the A3 road who is wanted by the police. Meanwhile at the Airport “Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia arriving from London, who is wanted by the police, was detected. Persons were detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for eight foreigners
at „Grebņeva”, „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, „Pāternieki and the Airport „Riga” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine; one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Great Britain, and one citizen of Belarus, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; one citizen of Moldova and one citizen of India, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and circumstances of their travel and stay; and one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner is prohibited from entering and staying in the territory of the Schengen area countries. Persons were returned to their country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by two foreigners
at “Terehova” border control point, two citizens of Ukraine who had violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa-free regime). Persons are subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Latvia
at “Silene” border control point, one minor citizen of Latvia who did not have the notarized consent of his/her parents to leave the country independently was detected, meanwhile at the Airport “Riga” border control point, two citizens of Latvia departing for London and one to Istanbul, who were not in possession of valid travel documents (surname has changed) were detected. Persons were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 21 persons - eight citizens of Azerbaijan, five citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Russia, two citizens of Nigeria, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Israel, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 16 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Russia, five citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Belarus, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Montenegro, one citizen of Romania, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
