On Saturday, September 4, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 53 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
23 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for one foreigner
at “Terehova” border control point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his travel and stay. The person was returned to his/her country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by one foreigner
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Great Britain who had violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa-free regime) was detected. Proceedings in the case of administrative violations of the citizen of Great Britain were not initiated.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Latvia
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing to London without a valid travel document required for entering Great Britain and one citizen departing to London without a valid travel document (document was invalid due to change of surname) were detected. People were prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by 11 people - five citizens of Turkey, two citizens of Estonia, one citizen of Belarus, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Azerbaijan, and one citizen of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 19 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Russia, four citizens of Moldova, three citizens of Latvia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Ukraine, one citizen of Tajikistan, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
