On Sunday, September 25, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 43 offenders on both external borders and within the country.
20 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:
- entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for one foreigner
at “Grebņeva” border control point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner was not in possession of a valid visa or residence permit. A person was returned to his/her country of exit.
- conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by two foreigners
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, two citizens of Georgia who had violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa-free regime) were detected. People were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at the Airport „Riga” border control point, one citizen of Latvia departing to Antalya without a valid travel document (the document was invalid due to the change of surname) was detected. Person was prohibited from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by three people - two citizens of Uzbekistan and one citizen of India.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - five citizens of Belarus, four citizens of Russia, four citizens of Moldova, two citizens of Ukraine, one citizen of Latvia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Germany.
