On Saturday, September 28, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4498 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 18 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
At the Pāternieki Border Control Point one citizen of Germany departing from Latvia with vehicle, who presented to border guards a forged Polish driving license, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged document was seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings. While at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, when profiling entering passengers, one citizen of Syria, who presented as his identity document a Polish passport of an another person, was detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for concealing one’s identity.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Grebņeva, the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to four citizens of Moldova and one – of Nigeria, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine and one – of Russia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 2 foreigners
one citizen of Belarus and one – of Ukraine were detected at the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, who violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia was detected, he is subject to a security measure - a ban on departing from the state. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - two citizens of Armenia, one – of Estonia and one – of China.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – nine citizens of Belarus, three – of Kyrgyzstan, three – of Moldova, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia and one – of Azerbaijan.
