On Friday, September 30, 2022, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 62 offenders on both external borders and within the country.

37 trespassers were detected on external borders, including:

  • entry to the Republic of Latvia was refused for 21 foreigners

at „Grebņeva”, „Vientuļi”, „Terehova”, „Pāternieki” and „Silene” border control points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to five citizens of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits; one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and circumstances of his/her travel and stay. Additionally, 14 citizens of Russia were denied entry into the Republic of Latvia for security reasons. All people were returned to their country of exit.

  • conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area were violated by five foreigners

at „Terehova”, „Grebņeva”, „Pāternieki” and the Airport „Riga” border control points, one citizen of Georgia, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Moldova who had violated the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen area (exceeded the period of stay specified in a visa or a visa-free regime, no valid visas or residence permits), were detected. The people were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Latvia

at „Silene” border control point, one minor citizen of Latvia, who did not have his/her parents' notarized consent to leave the country independently, was detected. The person was prohibited from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected by seven people - two citizens of Estonia, two citizens of Lithuania, one citizen of Russia, one citizen of Uzbekistan, and one citizen of Azerbaijan.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 people were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia - four citizens of Russia, three citizens of Latvia, three citizens of Belarus, two citizens of Kazakhstan, one citizen of Estonia, one citizen of Lithuania, one citizen of Moldova, one citizen of Ukraine, and one citizen of Uzbekistan.
