On Monday, September 30, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4498 persons have been stopped this year. 

A total 18 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 38 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 9 foreigners

at the Grebņeva, the Terehova, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Kazakhstan, one – of Moldova and one – of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner has already stayed for 90 days in the territory of the Schengen area countries in the preceding 180 days; to one citizen of Uzbekistan, as the foreigner was not in possession of valid residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Russia, one – of Ukraine and one –of Moldova due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 7 foreigners

three citizens of Uzbekistan, three – of Moldova and one – of Tajikistan were detected at the Terehova and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

  • exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia (female) departing for Great Britain, whose identity document is not valid for travel to United Kingdom, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 9 persons – three citizens of India, three – of Ukraine, two – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 9 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – three citizens of Moldova, one – of Latvia, one - of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one – of Azerbaijan, one – of Kazakhstan and one - of Germany.
