On Monday, September 4, 38 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7002 persons have been stopped during this year.
Due to humanitarian reasons, one person was not banned from crossing the state border during the past 24 hours; 317 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On September 4, officials of the State Border Guard detected 46 offenders at external borders and within the country.
24 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 wanted persons were detained
At the Terehova Border Control Point two citizens of Latvia entered the country, who are wanted by the Police, were detected. The persons were detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 7 foreigners
at the Vientuļi, the Terehova, the Silene, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Ukraine, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay. Two more citizens of Russia and one - of Belarus were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 5 foreigners
two citizens of Belarus, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Kazakhstan and one – of Georgia were detected at the Pāternieki, the Silene and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa or visa-free regime). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for London, who was not in possession of a valid travel document (document registered as stolen or lost), was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 1 citizen of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 20 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, three – of Latvia, three – of Russia, three – of Moldova, two – of Ukraine, one – of Estonia and one – of Serbia.
