On Friday, September 6, 6 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 4163 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 16 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 72 offenders at external borders and within the country.
34 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 2 foreigners with forged documents were detected
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of India, who presented to border guards a forged passport of an Indian citizen, and one citizen of India, who presented to border guards a forged Spanish residence permit, were detected. Criminal proceedings were initiated for the use of forged documents. The forged documents were seized within the framework of the criminal proceedings.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 14 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva, the Pāternieki and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Columbia, to one – of Georgia and one - of Moldova, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay; to one citizen of Russia and one – of Azerbaijan, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to three citizens of Moldova, three – of Russia and two – of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners
two citizens of Russia, one – of Kyrgyzstan and one of Uzbekistan were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visas or residence permits, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). Record-keeping regarding the administrative violation committed by one citizen of Uzbekistan was not initiated, the other persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one minor citizen of Latvia departing for Georgia, who did not have the notarized consent of the other parent for the child to leave the country, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons - three citizens of Latvia, two – of Belarus, one – of Russia, one – of Lithuania, one – of India, one – of Columbia and one – of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 28 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – six citizens of Belarus, five – of Moldova, three – of Latvia, two – of Russia, two – of Lithuania, two – of Kyrgyzstan, two – of Poland, one – of Kazakhstan, one – of Serbia, one - of Tajikistan, one – of Uzbekistan, one – of Germany and one – of Ireland.
