On Friday, September 8, 115 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 7499 persons have been stopped during this year
In total 317 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
On September 8, officials of the State Border Guard detected 39 offenders at external borders and within the country.
22 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova, the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Uzbekistan and one – of Russia, as the foreigners were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova and one – of Kazakhstan, as the foreigners could not justify the purpose and conditions of their entry and stay. Two more citizens of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 8 foreigners
five citizens of Uzbekistan, two – of Tajikistan and one – of Russia were detected at the Grebņeva and the „Riga” Airport Border Control Points for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit). The person was subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for London, without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, was detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 4 persons - three citizens of Lithuania and one – of Latvia.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 13 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – 3 citizens of Belarus, one – of Lithuania, one – of Latvia, one – of Russia, one – of Italy, one – of Moldova, one – of Ukraine, one – of Uzbekistan and one – of Germany.
