As of 22 March 2025, State Border Guard officials and State Police employee’s on board State Border Guard vessel RK-12 “VALPAS” resumed participating in the Joint Operation "Greece 2025" of Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, providing support to Greek authorities related services in the Aegean Sea. The purpose of that joint operation is to ensure maritime border surveillance using the technical means and experts of the Member States in order to reduce the pressure of illegal migration at the external sea borders of Greece.
After resuming its participation in the joint operation, the State Border Guard vessel RK-12 “VALPAS” with crew has already participated in one maritime search and rescue operation, saving the lives of 37 migrants.
