On 19th February 2025 a regular rotation of experts was carried out within the framework of the 2nd operational period of Joint operations coordinated by Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.
60 Frontex Standing Corps officers from Estonia, Norway, Switzerland, Lithuania, Sweden, Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic, Finland and the Netherlands are deployed in the Border Crossing Points and Border Surveillance Units of the State Border Guard. Off-road patrol vehicles from Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Finland, Netherlands, as well as from Frontex are involved for the implementation of border surveillance activities on the Latvian-Russian border.
At the same time, 52 State Border Guard Officers provide operational support to Greece, Romania, Italy, Georgia, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic within the framework of Joint operations coordinated by Frontex. State Border Guard officers carry out their duties in other countries as individual experts, such as Dog handlers with service dogs, Border surveillance experts, Advanced level document officers, Screening experts, Registration and fingerprinting Officers, Information officers, First-line and Second-line officers. They also operate as crew members for technical equipment, including Coastal Patrol Boat and Mobile Surveillance System.
This cooperation demonstrates Frontex’, the State Border Guard's and Member States’ contribution to strengthening the security of the European Union's borders and its role in the international border control system, thereby contributing to an a unified and efficient approach to border management.
