On Sunday, March 16, 0 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 254 persons have been stopped this year.
A total 7 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.
Officials of the State Border Guard detected 32 offenders at external borders and within the country. 10 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 2 foreigners
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; while at the Terehova Border Control Point, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the countries of departure.
- conditions of residence were violated by 3 foreigners
two citizens of Russian and one - of Kazakhstan were detected at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, for violating the conditions of residence in the territory of the Schengen Area Countries (were not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa). The persons were subjected to administrative liability.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, one citizen of Latvia leaving the country for Egypt, who was not in possession of valid travel document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 5 persons – four citizens of Estonia and one – of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – four citizens of Moldova, two – of Latvia, two - of Belarus, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Lithuania, one – of Armenia, one – of France, one – of Kyrgyzstan, one – of Serbia, one – of Ukraine and one – of Germany.
