On Monday, July 1, 47 persons were stopped from illegally crossing the border between Latvia and Belarus, while a total – 2617 persons have been stopped this year. 

 

A total 12 persons have been admitted for humanitarian reasons this year.

 

Officials of the State Border Guard detected 44 offenders at external borders and within the country. 

20 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:

  • 3 foreigners with forged documents were detected

at the „Riga” Airport and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, two citizens of Russia entering Latvia and one citizen of Uzbekistan leaving the country, who presented to border guards forged driving licences, were detected. In both cases criminal proceedings were not initiated and the persons were subjected to administrative liability. The forged documents were seized.

  • entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 4 foreigners

 

at the „Riga” Airport and the Terehova Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Ukraine, as the foreigner could not justify the purpose and conditions of his entry and stay; as well as entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to two citizens of Ukraine and one – of Russia due to security reasons.

  • conditions of residence were violated by 4 foreigners

 

two citizens of Belarus, who exceeded the duration of stay specified in the visa, were detected at the Pāternieki and the Grebņeva Border Control Points; while a citizen of Uzbekistan, who was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit, was detected at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point. The persons were subjected to administrative liability.

 

  • exit from the country was refused to two persons

 

at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point, two citizens of Latvia, departing for Manchester without valid for travelling to Great Britain documents, were detected. The persons were banned from leaving the country.

While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 10 persons -  two citizens of of Lithuania, two – of Algeria, two – of Finland, two – of Ukraine, one – of Russia and one – of Estonia.

Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 17 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – seven citizens of Belarus, three – of Lithuania, two – of Kazakhstan, one – of Poland and one – of Uzbekistan.
