On Friday, March 24, 2023, officials of the State Border Guard of the Republic of Latvia detected 34 offenders at external borders and within the country.
17 trespassers were detected at external borders, including:
- 1 wanted persons was detained
At the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia arriving from Oslo, who is wanted by the Police, was detected. The person was detained and handed over to the officials of the State Police.
- entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to 6 foreigners
at the Terehova and the Pāternieki Border Control Points, entry into the Republic of Latvia was refused to one citizen of Russia as the foreigner was not in possession of valid visa or residence permit; to one citizen of Moldova, as the foreigner was banned from entry into the territory of the Schengen States. Two more citizens of Ukraine and two – of Russia were banned from entry into the Republic of Latvia due to security reasons. The persons were returned to the country of departure.
- exit from the Republic of Latvia was refused to 1 citizen of Latvia
at the „Riga” Airport Border Control Point one citizen of Latvia, departing for East Midlands without valid for travelling to Great Britain document, was detected. The person was banned from leaving the country.
While carrying out immigration control measures within the country, violations of entry or residence conditions were detected for 3 persons – two citizens of Uzbekistan and one citizen of Lithuania.
Within the framework of vehicle and vessel operations, 14 persons were subjected to administrative liability or were refused the right to enter the Republic of Latvia by officials of the State Border Guard of Latvia – five citizens of Lithuania, four – of Belarus, one – of Latvia, one – of Moldova, one - of the Netherlands, one – of Ukraine and one – of Uzbekistan.
